Resources Available at the FamilySearch Centre

Research locally at the FamilySearch Centre of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 591 Arbutus Street, Qualicum Beach, B.C.

Members of our Family History Society volunteer at the local LDS FamilySearch Centre on Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. September through June. The FamilySearch Center is closed on Statuary Holidays.  During the summer  months ( July and August) the FamilySearch Centre is closed.  Volunteers are there to assist you with your research.  Telephone 250-586-3575 to talk to Liz Clapp and book a time at the FamilySearch Center

 British Records:

  • Ancestry Library Edition
  • FindMyPast.com – limited selection of U.K. records
  • 19th Century British Library Newspaper Digital Archive includes papers originating in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
  • World Vital Records
  • The Genealogist

American Records:

  • Ancestry Library Edition
  • Fold3.com (formerly Footnote.com)
  • Alexander Street Press (seems to focus on the American Civil War)
  • Godfrey Memorial Library
  • Heritage Quest Online
  • Historic Map Works Library Edition

 Swedish Records:

  • ArkivDigital Online – the largest online private provider of Swedish church records and many other historical records.  Genline was bought by Ancestry.com where the records are now available.
