Meetings & Interest Groups
General meetings are held in the meeting room at the rear of the Qualicum Beach branch of The Royal Canadian Legion at 180 E. 1st Avenue, Qualicum Beach, on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Please note that there will be no meetings in July and August.
These meetings provide an opportunity for members to learn, exchange information, and participate in social events.

SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS (Research Assistance)
Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are a great way to meet informally with others who share your common area of interest. The first Tuesday of the month is devoted to English and Welsh genealogy; the second Tuesday to Scottish genealogy; and the third Tuesday to Irish genealogy.
Special Interest Groups are chaired by members with an interest in the topics and are an opportunity for experienced researchers to help others with their research problems. They meet from the autumn through the spring unless the day falls too close to Christmas. Sessions are held at the Family History Center, 591 Arbutus Street, Qualicum Beach. No need to register, just show up on the designated dates at 1:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
In 2011/2012 the schedule is as follows:
- English SIG - October 4, November 1, December 6, February 7, March 6 and April 3
- Scottish SIG - October 11, November 8, January 10, February 14, March 13, April 10.
- Irish SIG - September 20, October 18, November 15, January 17, February 21 and March 20

USER GROUPS
These sessions are held at the Family History Center, 591 Arbutus Street, Qualicum Beach. No need to register, just show up on the designated dates and times. Everyone is welcome.
- Computer User Group meets the fourth Tuesday of the month at 1:00 p.m.
- Legacy User Group meets at 9:30 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. This will be of interest to users of Legacy Family Tree genealogy software and those thinking of using it.
In 2011/2012 the schedule is as follows:
- Computer User Group - September 27, October 25, November 22, January 24, February 28 and March 27
- Legacy User Group - September 13, October 11, November 8, January 10, February 14, March 13 and April 10
